Family reunions, church groups, conference teams and wedding guests all pour through Hartsfield-Jackson. Downtown is only about 10 miles away; the part to plan is where your group meets the driver.

Domestic Terminal: the atrium or the lower-level curb

In the Domestic Terminal, your driver will meet you either inside, by the atrium, or else outside on the lower level, at the North or the South curb. International Terminal arrivals are met at the outer curb or on the Arrivals level. Tell us whether your airline uses the North or South side, so the driver waits on the right side of the building and your group is not pushing carts the full length of it.

Why every ATL pickup is arranged in advance

Every limousine pickup at ATL has to be booked ahead, and only limo companies holding an airport permit may collect passengers there. That is one strong reason to book the pickup before you fly instead of trying to line up a vehicle after landing. When the quote arrives, it names the operator, so you know who is coming.

Worth knowing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

  • MARTA Airport Station is at the west end of the Domestic Terminal.
  • Shared-ride and hotel shuttles: Ground Transportation Center, west end of Domestic Terminal.
  • Only ATL-permitted limo companies may pick up at the airport.
  • All limousine service must be arranged in advance.

Shared shuttles, MARTA, or a private minibus rental

Shared-ride vans and hotel shuttles leave from the Ground Transportation Center, on the Domestic Terminal's west end, which is also where the MARTA Airport Station is. They work for a couple travelling light. For a family reunion or a church group with suitcases, a minibus rental keeps everyone together and takes you door to door, and there is no waiting for a shared van to fill.

Downtown in under half an hour, and the Aquarium stop

Downtown Atlanta is roughly 15 to 30 minutes away. Plenty of groups go straight to the Georgia Aquarium or the World of Coca-Cola. For the aquarium, bus parking is at the GWCC Marshalling Yard, roughly half a mile off; it must be reserved in advance and can close for events. Tell us your first stop when you book so the operator can plan the drop and the parking.

Inside close to the atrium, or outdoors on the lower level at the North or the South curb. Your confirmation says which, based on your airline and the vehicle.

Can any car service pick us up at ATL?

No. A limo company needs an ATL permit to pick up there, and every limo booking has to be made in advance.

What vehicle suits a family reunion flying into Atlanta?

Up to 19 people fit a Sprinter. From about 20 to 35, a midsize coach gives you under-floor bays; above that, a motorcoach.
