Group Transport

Orlando minibus rental and Sprinter vans for park days and cruise transfers

Most groups in Orlando are families: grandparents, cousins, strollers, a week of luggage and a park schedule. An Orlando minibus rental or a Sprinter van with a driver gets all of you from MCO to the hotel, then to the gates each morning.

Arriving at MCO with the whole family

Pre-arranged vehicles pick up at Ground Transportation on Level 1. If your group is on an international flight, you will exit to the meet-and-greet area on Level 6 of Terminal C instead. When relatives land on different flights, one vehicle that waits sometimes makes more sense than two covering the same road; we can quote it both ways. Some flights use Orlando Sanford, about 27 miles from downtown, so check your tickets.

Here, luggage decides the vehicle more than headcount does. A Sprinter's cargo space sits behind the last row and a minibus has limited room for bags, so twelve people with a week of checked cases may need a minibus with a rear luggage area or a midsize coach with under-floor bays.

Park days at Disney, Universal and Epic Universe

Walt Disney World parks buses as oversized vehicles, and Universal sends them to designated bus and RV parking rather than valet. Epic Universe is entered separately from the other Universal parks, so be clear which gate your group wants.

The pickup is where park days go wrong. Agree a meeting point and time before you split up, and remember that the crowd leaving after the fireworks all heads for the same exits.

Cruise ports

Port Canaveral on sailing day

From MCO it is about 45 miles to Port Canaveral, or 45 to 60 minutes along SR 528 East. Any vehicle bringing passengers into the port must hold a Canaveral Port Authority permit, and the fare must be prepaid and pre-arranged, so this is not a ride to sort out at the curb. Loading zones allow 15 minutes, which is ample if bags are counted before you leave.

Many families fly in a day early and make the port run in the morning. Kennedy Space Center is out the same way, but with cruise luggage aboard it deserves its own day.

Convention weeks and days out

The Orange County Convention Center is on International Drive, and a Sprinter loop between hotel and hall suits a sales team better than a line of rideshares. Daytona Beach, LEGOLAND Florida and Tampa each make an easy day trip, and St. Augustine a longer one.

Questions

Can we stop at a grocery store on the way from MCO?

Yes, if you mention it when you book. A stop adds time, which can change the price, but it saves a second trip once everyone is settled.

Does the vehicle wait at the park all day?

It can if you book it for the day, or you can book separate morning and evening transfers. Waiting time shapes the quote, so tell us which you prefer.

Can a Sprinter take a family of 12 with cruise luggage?

Sometimes, depending on the wheelbase. If most people have a large suitcase, a minibus or midsize coach is safer.
