Reagan National airport shuttle for groups visiting Washington
Only about 5 miles separate Reagan National from the U.S. Capitol, close enough that a class trip or a family can be at the National Mall soon after landing. Getting the pickup right at Terminal 1 or 2 is what keeps it that quick.
Where pre-booked vehicles meet you at DCA
Limo and sedan pickups at Reagan need a pre-arranged reservation. Terminal 1 limos use Curbside 3, and Curbside 4 is where that terminal's curb map places tour buses. In Terminal 2, limos pick up from Zones 1 to 4 of Curbside 2, on the Baggage Claim level.
For a minibus or coach meeting a group at Terminal 2, you will have the exact meeting point from the driver ahead of the day. Pass that detail on to every chaperone or family member, not just the organizer.

Waiting while the Cell Phone Lot is closed
The Cell Phone Lot has been closed for construction, and the garages charge nothing for stays of up to 60 minutes. That leaves less slack than usual, so the driver needs a clear sense of when your group will be out. Send the flight number, keep one phone on for the day, and call once the bags are collected rather than the moment the wheels touch down.

- Limo and sedan pickup requires a pre-arranged reservation.
Airport shuttle to the National Mall for school and family groups
Groups can only load and unload on the Mall in signed drop-off and pick-up zones. For bus parking, the National Park Service mainly uses Ohio Drive SW, in West Potomac Park. If your first stop is a Smithsonian museum or a memorial, tell us which one so the drop point makes sense for the whole group. Motorcoach idling is capped at three minutes, or five at 32 degrees or below, so the engine will not be running while a class lines up.
Choosing a vehicle for a Washington arrival
A family or a small board team fits a Sprinter with room for bags. A midsize coach suits a class of around 35 with overnight luggage in the under-floor bays, and a motorcoach of 49 to 81 seats carries a full grade. If some of your group are arriving by train, remember that Union Station has no charter pickup out front, so arrange a separate meeting point for them.
Questions
Can we arrange a car at DCA after we land?
Limo and sedan pickups at Reagan require a pre-arranged reservation, so book before you fly and keep the confirmation handy.
Where does a tour bus pick up at Terminal 1?
Curbside 4, according to the Terminal 1 curb map. Your driver confirms the spot before the day, along with the plan for Terminal 2 arrivals.
Is Reagan or Dulles better for a school trip to DC?
From Reagan to the Capitol is about 5 miles; Dulles sits about 26 miles from downtown. If you can choose your flights, Reagan usually means less time on the road, but we quote pickups from both.
