Fort Lauderdale airport shuttle pickups for groups
FLL is small enough to be friendly and close enough to the ships that some groups barely see the city. Whether you are heading to a cruise, a beach hotel or a wedding, here is how the group pickup works.
Lower-level curbside pickup at Terminals 1 to 4
Pre-booked pickups at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood use designated curbside areas on the lower, Arrivals level. Follow the transportation signs, and look for the Ground Transportation Booth on the lower level of each terminal if you get turned around. Some curbside pickup areas have been closed until further notice, which is exactly why your driver agrees the meeting point with you in advance rather than relying on last year's instructions.

Worth knowing at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
- Free shuttle to Tri-Rail station at Dania Beach.
- Port Everglades is about 2 miles away.
- GTA 2 and GTA 4 curb pickup closed until further notice.
- Ground Transportation Booth on the lower level of each terminal.
Two miles to Port Everglades
Port Everglades is about 2 miles from the airport; it is the one U.S. seaport with an international airport alongside. The ride is quick, but you pass a security checkpoint on the way into the port, and adults are asked for government photo ID. Keep passports and IDs out of the checked bags. A bus service needs a Port Everglades Business Permit, and coaches use designated areas outside the terminals, so tell us your ship and terminal when you book.
Cruise groups often want a hotel night or a lunch stop between landing and boarding. Because we quote the vehicle and driver for the trip rather than a single drop, that can be built into one plan.
Fort Lauderdale Beach, downtown, or on to Miami
Downtown Fort Lauderdale is about 4 miles away, roughly 10 to 20 minutes. Wedding guests heading to Fort Lauderdale Beach, fans going to a Panthers game at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, and cruise groups sailing from PortMiami instead all start here. PortMiami is about 26 miles from FLL, roughly 35 to 60 minutes, so leave margin on a sailing day.
Tri-Rail shuttle or a booked Sprinter
A free shuttle connects the airport with Dania Beach's Tri-Rail station, which suits a light traveller. For a family with cruise cases, a Sprinter van rental with driver takes up to 19 of you door to door, and a coach with under-floor bays handles larger groups.
