Minibus rental with driver for groups of 16 to 19

A minibus rental is the right size for a lot of groups: a wedding guest shuttle, a church outing, a family reunion or an airport run. It seats more than an SUV but moves more easily than a full coach.

What a minibus rental gets you, and what it does not

A minibus is usually a cutaway body built on a Ford or Chevrolet chassis, seating roughly 16 to 19 passengers. Many models have passenger seat belts. It suits airport shuttles, weddings, church groups and local events, and it handles city streets and hotel driveways more easily than a full coach.

Think of it as the shuttle for a wedding weekend: guests collected from two hotels, taken to the ceremony, then on to the reception. It also works well as an airport shuttle for a group travelling light. At Harry Reid's Terminal 1 in Las Vegas, for example, group shuttles pick up outside baggage claim doors 7 to 13.

Luggage is the minibus's weak spot

Luggage space on a minibus is limited; some floor plans add a luggage area at the rear. For a wedding guest shuttle or a night out, that is fine. For an airport run with a suitcase each, or a team with kit bags, it can be a problem. If your group has a lot of luggage, a midsize coach, with its under-floor bays, is often the better choice, even if the headcount would fit a minibus.

Why the minibus driver needs a CDL

A minibus is designed for 16 or more people once you count the driver, so whoever drives it must hold a CDL passenger endorsement. That is the operator's responsibility, not yours, but it is one reason to book a licensed operator rather than hire a vehicle to drive yourselves.

Wheelchair-lift floor plans are available, so if anyone in your group uses a wheelchair, tell us when you ask for a quote.

Questions

How many people fit in a minibus?

Typically 16 to 19 passengers, depending on the floor plan.

Is a minibus good for an airport transfer?

Yes, if the group travels light. Luggage space is limited, so for a suitcase each a midsize coach may be better.

Can a minibus take a wheelchair?

Wheelchair-lift floor plans are available. Tell us when you book so we can find one.
