Group Transport

Minibus and Sprinter van rental in Seattle

Seattle groups often arrive with a plan that covers a market, a mountain, a ballgame and a ship, sometimes in one weekend. A minibus rental or a Sprinter van with a driver lets the group take on all of it together.

Landing at Sea-Tac with a group

Sea-Tac is about 14 miles from downtown, and where you meet the driver depends on the vehicle. Pre-arranged limousines use the Ground Transportation Plaza on the third floor of the garage. A charter bus has to check in first at the 28th Street lot; after that, it collects passengers at the Northeast Charter Lot on the garage's first floor.

There is no on-airport waiting area for pre-arranged limos, so flight numbers matter: the driver times the arrival to your real landing.

Cruise ports

Pike Place Market and Seattle Center with a minibus

At Pike Place, charter buses get a 15-minute zone on 1st Avenue's west side, between Pike and Pine, enough to unload a group and not much more. Have everyone ready to hop out, and set a return time before you scatter among the stalls. Seattle Center, home to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass and MoPOP, is a short ride away and pairs naturally with the market for a family or school day.

Snoqualmie, Mount Rainier and Leavenworth days out

Snoqualmie Falls is about 29 miles east and makes a relaxed half day. Mount Rainier's Nisqually entrance is about 85 miles away and Leavenworth about 117, so each is a full day. Leavenworth sends oversized vehicles to the Glacier Lot and nowhere else, and the group walks into town from there.

Vancouver, BC is about 140 miles away plus the border crossing, so everyone needs their travel documents ready before the vehicle leaves.

Cruise weekends and game days

Many groups are here to sail. Norwegian and Oceania use Pier 66, and most other lines use Pier 91, which has its own entry and exit for cruise buses; our Seattle cruise page covers the shuttle service between the airport, hotels and both piers. On game days, Lumen Field and T-Mobile Park sit side by side south of downtown, and Climate Pledge Arena is at Seattle Center. Agree on a pickup spot away from the main gates.

Questions

Can the minibus wait at Pike Place Market?

Only briefly. The charter bus zone on 1st Avenue allows 15 minutes, so the driver drops the group and returns at the agreed time.

Where does a charter bus meet us at Sea-Tac?

The bus checks in first at the 28th Street lot and afterwards picks up from the Northeast Charter Lot, which is on the garage's Floor 1. Pre-arranged limos use the Ground Transportation Plaza on the third floor.

Can a Sprinter van take us to Leavenworth for the day?

Yes. Plan on a full day, with about 117 miles each way. If the group needs a larger vehicle, it parks at the Glacier Lot.
