Chicago minibus rental and Sprinter vans with a driver
Whether your group is in town for a McCormick Place show, a Cubs game or a winter class trip to the Museum Campus, a Chicago minibus rental or a Sprinter van with a driver keeps everyone together and out of the wind.
O'Hare or Midway: where the driver meets you
At O'Hare, pre-arranged limos and black cars use the lower level, center lane (lane 2). For charter buses it is the commercial lanes on the lower level, or at Terminal 5 the outer lane by Door 5D; they are not allowed in the Multi-Modal Facility. Rideshares at Terminals 2 and 3 pick up on the upper level, so don't follow the app signs.
Downtown is about 11 miles from Midway and 17 from O'Hare, so Midway can be the easier arrival for a South Loop or McCormick Place hotel. Send every flight number so pickups follow the real landing times.

McCormick Place shuttles for conference teams
North America's largest convention center, McCormick Place, sits on the lakefront south of the Loop, not in it. Teams staying in River North or on the Magnificent Mile usually want a morning and evening Sprinter loop rather than a day of cabs. Larger coaches can stage at the McCormick Place Marshalling Yard, which takes reservations and sits at 31st Street and Lake Shore Drive.

Game days at Soldier Field, Wrigley and the United Center
Soldier Field has a set bus drop-off and pickup on Columbus Drive, north of Balbo, so your group walks a short way after the game. Agree the meeting point before kickoff, not after. For Wrigley Field, the United Center or Rate Field, a party bus turns the ride into part of the day, and a fixed pickup time stops the group scattering afterward.
Museum Campus visits in the cold months
The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium share the Museum Campus, and motorcoaches can reserve day parking at the Adler Lot. In Chicago a diesel vehicle may idle for only three minutes in any hour, so a bus cannot sit running to stay warm while you finish lunch. Give the driver a firm pickup time and keep everyone indoors until the vehicle arrives.
Day trips from Chicago
Six Flags Great America and Indiana Dunes are an hour or so away, Lake Geneva, Milwaukee and Starved Rock around two. Springfield is 3.5 to 4.5 hours away, which makes it better as an overnight for a school group.
Questions
Is the O'Hare Multi-Modal Facility open to our charter bus for pickups?
No. Your bus will use the commercial lanes on the lower level, or at Terminal 5 the outer lane by Door 5D.
Where do we meet the bus after a Bears game?
At the bus drop-off and pickup on Columbus Drive, north of Balbo. Set a time with the driver before the game.
Is Midway better than O'Hare for a McCormick Place event?
It is closer to downtown and the South Loop, so it often is, but it depends on your flights.
