Minibus rental in Philadelphia for Old City, day trips and game days

Philadelphia is a city groups keep coming back to: school trips to Independence Hall, reunions in Center City, friends heading to an Eagles game. A minibus rental or a Sprinter van with a driver keeps you all together and takes the parking question off the table.

Old City with a group: where the vehicle actually stops

Motorcoaches may not park on Philadelphia's streets, so an Old City day starts with the drop-off. The Independence Transportation Center on Race Street, between 5th and 6th, offers 11 loading spots where the limit is 10 to 15 minutes, right beside the National Constitution Center. From there the group walks to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, and the vehicle heads to a designated site such as the Callowhill Bus Center.

Entry to Independence Hall is by timed ticket, which tour operators book through Recreation.gov, so settle the ticket time first and build the pickup around it.

From PHL to Center City

Philadelphia International is about 10 miles from downtown. For a wedding weekend or conference group, one pickup per cluster of flights usually works best. Send every flight number so the driver follows delays, and mention anyone traveling with a wheelchair so the right vehicle is booked from the start.

Lancaster, Hershey and Atlantic City day trips

Valley Forge is about 23 miles out, an easy half day. Lancaster County is about 60 to 80 miles away depending on your stops, and Hershey about 95, so each is a comfortable full day. Atlantic City is about 62 miles away.

A Sprinter van with a driver suits a smaller party heading to the shore, while a church group or school class going to Lancaster may be happier on a minibus, where everyone sits together.

Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and Flyers game days

Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park and Xfinity Mobile Arena, formerly the Wells Fargo Center, are close together in South Philadelphia, and game days bring heavy traffic to all three. A party bus rental or minibus lets a tailgate crew or birthday group ride together, and the driver meets you at an agreed spot afterward. Subaru Park, home of the Union, is further south in Chester.
