Group Transport

Orlando airport shuttle pickups for families and groups

Most people landing at MCO with a group are on holiday: grandparents, cousins, cheer squads and school bands heading for the parks or a cruise. The pickup is easier than the crowds suggest once you know which level to aim for.

Level 1 Ground Transportation at MCO

At Orlando International, pre-booked pickups are handled from Level 1 Ground Transportation. A limo meets you either in the Commercial Lane or in the Ground Transportation concourse, while a bus stays in the Bus and Taxi Holding Area, close to the Cell Phone Lot, until your group is ready. That holding area is why a coach can be close by without sitting at the curb.

Send the flight number and keep one phone on. The call to come in should happen when everyone has their bags, including the car seats and strollers that always seem to come out last.

International arrivals come out at Terminal C, Level 6

Flights from abroad bring passengers out at the meet-and-greet area on Level 6 of Terminal C. That is a different starting point from domestic flights, so if half the family flies domestic and half international, expect two meeting spots and tell us both flights when you book.

  • Brightline station is linked to Terminal C.
  • International arrivals exit to Terminal C Level 6 meet & greet.

Airport shuttle to the parks, I-Drive or Port Canaveral

Downtown Orlando is about 12 miles away, roughly 20 to 30 minutes, but most groups are heading to International Drive, Lake Buena Vista or the Universal area. Disney theme park parking lists buses as oversized vehicles, and Universal points buses to designated bus and RV parking instead of valet. For a cruise, Port Canaveral is about 45 miles, roughly 45 to 60 minutes via SR 528, and operators there need a Port Authority permit.

Sizing a vehicle for a park holiday

Theme-park luggage is bulky: big cases, strollers, cooler bags. A Sprinter van rental with driver suits a family of up to 19 with room behind the last row. A larger party, or a cheer squad or a school band with instruments, needs a coach with under-floor bays. Mention car seats when you ask for a quote so the operator can confirm what they can supply.

Questions

Where does our driver meet us at Orlando International?

Domestic arrivals meet on Level 1 Ground Transportation, inside its concourse or out in the Commercial Lane. Passengers arriving internationally use the meet-and-greet area on Level 6 of Terminal C.

Can we go from MCO straight to a cruise at Port Canaveral?

Yes. The port is about 45 miles away, and every operator running ground transport there needs a Port Authority permit, so tell us the ship when you book.

Should we take Brightline instead?

The Brightline station links to Terminal C, which suits travellers heading along its route. For a family going to a resort hotel, one vehicle door to door is usually simpler.
