JFK airport shuttle and Sprinter pickups for groups

Landing at Kennedy with a wedding party, a family reunion or a team on the same flight? We book one vehicle and one driver for the whole group, and the pickup follows the way JFK actually handles pre-booked cars.

How a group airport shuttle pickup works at JFK

At JFK the driver does the waiting away from the terminals, in the East Cell Phone Lot or the Free Wait Lot by Lefferts Boulevard, while your flight lands and your group works through baggage claim. When you are ready, the driver comes in and meets you in that terminal's ground transportation area. The gap between waiting and meeting is why one well-timed phone call matters more here than at a small regional airport.

Send us the flight number rather than a clock time; that way the pickup tracks the real landing. A group never walks out as fast as one traveller, so pick one person to hold the phone and ask them to call once the last case is off the belt.

Terminals 5 and 7 and the free AirTrain hop

Car services picking up from Terminals 5 and 7 use the Howard Beach AirTrain lot rather than the terminal itself. The AirTrain is free inside the airport, including the ride to Howard Beach, so for a small group it adds a short train ride, not a cost. If someone in your party uses a wheelchair, or you are juggling car seats and heavy luggage, tell us when you book and the driver will confirm the easiest meeting point before the day.

Sprinter, minibus or coach from Kennedy

For up to 19 passengers, a Sprinter van rental with driver is usually the easiest fit into Manhattan. A minibus seats roughly 16 to 19 but has limited luggage space, so a wedding group with checked bags may be happier in a midsize coach with under-floor bays.

Getting from JFK to a Midtown hotel

Midtown is about 15 miles away, roughly 40 to 75 minutes off-peak, and longer at rush hour. Larger vehicles face extra rules once they reach Manhattan: no bus may pick up or set down passengers anywhere on Fifth Avenue from 32nd up to 59th Street, and idling is capped at three minutes. If your hotel sits on or near Fifth, send us the exact address and any side-street entrance so the operator can plan a legal stop.

Questions

Where will the driver meet our group at JFK?

In your terminal's ground transportation area. At Terminals 5 and 7 the pickup moves to the Howard Beach AirTrain lot for car services, and the note on your confirmation says which applies to your flight.

What happens if our flight into JFK is delayed?

The pickup follows your flight number, so the driver adjusts to the actual landing. Long waits can change the quote, and how waiting time is handled is written on the quote before you accept it.

Can one vehicle collect guests from two JFK terminals?

Yes, if you give us both flights. Because the AirTrain is free between terminals, it is often quicker for the first arrivals to ride over and join the others than for the vehicle to make two separate stops.

Bringing a group through JFK?

Send the flight numbers, the headcount and a rough bag count. We will come back with a single quote covering vehicle and driver, and you pay nothing unless you accept it.
