Group Transport

Atlanta minibus rental and Sprinter vans with a driver

Your group might be a church choir on tour, a class visiting the Civil Rights center or friends in town for a game. An Atlanta minibus rental or a Sprinter van with a driver gets everyone from the airport to downtown in one trip.

Getting out of Hartsfield-Jackson

Only limo companies holding an ATL permit can pick up at the airport, and every limo ride has to be booked in advance, so this is one airport where booking ahead is required rather than simply wise. Domestic arrivals meet their driver inside near the atrium, or else at the North or South curb on the lower level. International passengers meet their driver on the Arrivals level or by the outer curb.

Groups often have some members on domestic flights and some on international ones. Those are two different buildings, so tell us which flight lands where and we'll set up the meeting points accordingly.

Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola and the Civil Rights center

Downtown's big three sit close together, which makes them a natural school or church day. The GWCC Marshalling Yard is where buses for the Georgia Aquarium park. It sits about half a mile from the aquarium, has to be reserved in advance and can close during events. Build that half-mile walk, or a drop-off with a timed return, into the day's plan.

A short ride away, Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park pairs well with the Civil Rights center in one day.

Game days downtown and at The Battery

Two venues, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena, sit downtown; Truist Park is out in Cobb County. For a Falcons or Atlanta United match, a party bus makes the traffic part of the day. For a Braves game, agree the pickup point before first pitch, because leaving The Battery after the last out is slow for everyone.

Weekend trips from Atlanta

Athens and Helen make easy days, and Chattanooga is about two hours or a little more. Savannah, at four and a half to five hours, works best as an overnight rather than a round trip in one day.

Questions

Can any car service pick us up at ATL?

No. Pickups are limited to limo companies with an ATL permit, and the ride has to be arranged in advance.

Where does our bus park at the Georgia Aquarium?

They use the GWCC Marshalling Yard, roughly half a mile off. Reserve it ahead, and be aware that events can close it.

Is a minibus big enough for a youth choir?

For about 16 to 19 singers with light bags, yes. With robes, instruments or overnight luggage, a midsize coach gives you under-floor space.
