Group Transport

Minibus rental in Houston, from the Galleria to the Galveston Seawall

Houston is big and spread out, and a group sharing cars across it usually ends up waiting on each other in different garages. A minibus rental or a Sprinter van with a driver keeps everyone together, from the airport curb to the last stop of the night.

Two airports, one group: meeting flights at IAH and Hobby

Most visitors fly into George Bush Intercontinental, about 23 miles north of downtown, but plenty of family trips land at Hobby, about 11 miles out on the other side of town. When one party arrives at both, two pickups beat sending half the group across the city in rideshares. Send every flight number with the request so the driver works from real landing times, not the timetable.

For a wedding weekend with arrivals all afternoon, a Sprinter van doing a few short runs often beats one minibus waiting for the last flight.

Cruise ports

Space Center Houston, the Museum District and Kemah in one day

Space Center Houston is about 25 miles from downtown and does not charge buses to park, which makes it an easy morning for a family reunion or a youth group. Kemah Boardwalk fits nicely on the way back. The Museum District and the Houston Zoo in Hermann Park are closer in and suit a shorter afternoon.

Traffic is what bends a Houston plan, so leave slack for the evening drive back to the Galleria or downtown.

Galveston day trips and cruise mornings

Galveston is about 50 miles from downtown Houston, 60 to 90 minutes on a good run. Friends heading down for the Strand, Moody Gardens or the Pleasure Pier can keep the same vehicle all day while the driver waits. If you are sailing, the Port of Galveston has its own permit and gated-access rules for charter vehicles, so the transfer must go to an operator who holds them. Our Galveston cruise page covers that trip.

Astros, Rockets and Dynamo nights with a party bus

For an Astros game at Daikin Park, a Rockets game at Toyota Center or a Dynamo match at Shell Energy Stadium, a Sprinter van or party bus rental saves the group from scattering across parking lots. Agree on a pickup corner a block or two from the busiest exit before the game, and meet there afterward. It suits a Midtown birthday night just as well.

Questions

Can one Houston minibus cover a Hobby pickup and an IAH pickup?

It can if the landing times line up, but the airports sit on opposite sides of the city. When arrivals are hours apart, two pickups mean far less waiting.

Is a Sprinter van big enough for a Galveston day with coolers and beach bags?

For up to 19 passengers with light bags, usually yes. Cargo space behind the last row depends on the wheelbase, so mention coolers and chairs when you ask for a quote.

What changes the price of a Houston group trip?

The date, how many hours you keep the vehicle, the miles, the vehicle size, waiting time, tolls and parking. You pay nothing until you have accepted the quote.
