Port Everglades shuttle service for cruise groups
Port Everglades is about as close to an airport as a cruise port gets, but a group of ten with a pile of suitcases still needs a plan. A shuttle service by Sprinter van or minibus keeps the family, the wedding party or the reunion crew together from arrivals hall to gangway.
Two miles from FLL, and still worth booking ahead
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International is about 2 miles from the port, 5 to 15 minutes by road; no other U.S. seaport has an international airport right next door. The short hop is the easy part. The harder part is gathering a group from several flights and getting every bag into one vehicle.
Send every flight number, and confirm the meeting point with us before you fly, since some curb pickup areas at FLL have been closed until further notice. For groups flying into Miami, about 27 miles away, allow 30 to 45 minutes.

Checkpoints and photo ID at the port gates
Security checkpoints sit at the port's entrances on SE 17th Street, I-595 East and State Road 84, and adults need government photo ID. Keep IDs out of the suitcases and in hand, because the vehicle passes the checkpoint with the group aboard. A Port Everglades Business Permit is required for taxi, limo and bus services, and coaches use designated areas outside the terminals.
Choosing the vehicle for a cruise group
For up to 19 people traveling light, a Sprinter van is usually enough. For a larger party, or a smaller one with big cases for a long voyage, a midsize coach gives more room. Tell us the suitcase count as well as the headcount, and the operator will match the vehicle to both.
Questions
Do we really need a booked transfer for such a short ride?
For a group, yes. Gathering everyone and their bags into one vehicle is far easier with a driver already waiting for your flights.
What ID do we need for the drive into the port?
At the port's security checkpoints, every adult will be asked for government photo ID, so keep it handy rather than packed.
Can we be picked up at a Fort Lauderdale Beach hotel?
Yes. Give the hotel address and your sailing time, and the pickup is planned around both.
